
Saki Macozoma

Sakumzi (Saki) Macozoma was born in Port Elizabeth on 12th May 1957.
He studied Political Science, Economics and Journalism at the Universities of South Africa and Boston in the United States of America.
After spending five years in prison on Robben Island he joined the South African Council of Churches. He also worked for the ANC and South African Breweries. He became a Member of Parliament in 1994 and left the Legislature to take up a position as Managing Director of Transnet Limited, a job he held for five years.
He is Chairman of Liberty, Chairman of Stanlib, Deputy Chairman of the Standard Bank Group, Non Executive Chairman of Safika Holdings and Chairman of the Council of Wits University.
Mr. Macozoma is also Chairman of the Presidents Big Business Working Group and Co-Chairman of the Business Trust
Leslie Maasdorp
Vice President: Business Leadership South Africa 
Leslie Maasdorp is Vice Chairman of Absa Capital and Barclays Capital, a position he has held since October 2006. He served as a non-executive Director of Absa Group and Absa Bank from 2004 until 2006 when he joined the Bank in an executive capacity. From 2002 until 2006 he was the first African to serve on the International Advisory Board of Goldman Sachs International. Prior to this role he led the privatization program of the South African Government when he served as Deputy Director General of the Department of Public Enterprises. In 1994 he was appointed Special Advisor to the (then), Minister of Labour, Mr. Tito Mboweni. He then joined Deloitte Consulting as Senior Manager in Strategy where he consulted to large corporates, parastatals and Government. Prior to 1994 he worked as a Policy Advisor in the Department of Economic Planning of the African National Congress (ANC).
During the 1980’s he played an active role in student and youth politics serving as President of the SRC at the University of the Western Cape. In 1986 he was arrested and detained without trial for 12 months under State of Emergency Regulations. After his release from prison he joined the trade union movement where he served as Regional Secretary of the South African Clothing and Textile Workers Union from 1987 until 1990.
He serves on various Boards including the International Marketing Council, Robor, Yard Capital, Cell C, Batho Bonke Capital and Johnnic.
He holds a B.A degree in Economics from the University of the Western Cape and an M.Sc degree in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. In 2007 he was designated a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
Bobby Godsell
Chairman: Business Leadership South Africa 
Robert (Bobby) Michael Godsell was born in Boksburg , South Africa on 14 September 1952, Bobby grew up in Durban where he attended Grosvenor Boys' High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Natal and a Master of Arts in Liberal Ethics from the University of Cape Town . He also spent a year pursuing postgraduate studies in Sociology and Philosophy at Leiden University in the Netherlands .

- Co-Chairman, (with Zwelinzima Vavi, General Secretary, Congress of South Africa Trade Unions), Millennium Labour Council (MLC), a body that provides for social dialogue between South African business and labour leaders.
- Chairman, Freeworld Coatings, the JSE listed coatings company recently demerged from BarlowWorld.
- Director, Housing for Africa , a company developing housing opportunities in the African continent.
- Honorary Professor, Wits Business School , teaching philosophy of management courses.

Bobby is married to Gillian, who is an industrial psychologist, and has three daughters.
Sizwe Nxasana
Vice Chairman: Business Leadership South Africa 
Sizwe Nxasana is a Chartered Accountant and Bachelor of Commerce (University of Fort Hare). He started his career at Unilever.In 1989 established Sizwe & Co, the first black-owned audit practice in Kwazulu Natal. In 1996 he became the founding partner of Nkonki Sizwe Ntsaluba, the first black-owned national firm of accountants and was national managing partner until 1998 when he joined Telkom SA as Chief Executive Officer.
His experience in the financial services industry includes non-executive directorships, since 2003, at FirstRand Bank and Rand Merchant Bank, non executive director of NBS Boland Bank from 1995 to 1998, non-executive director of the Development Bank of South Africa from 1995 to 1998 and Chairman of Mesele-Hoskens Insurance Group from 1994 to 1996.
In January 2006 Sizwe took over as CEO of FirstRand Bank, the wholly-owned subsidiary of FirstRand Limited, with responsibility for the entire banking operations of the Group, including First National Bank, Rand Merchant Bank and WesBank.
Maria Ramos
Vice Chairman: Business Leadership South Africa
Maria Ramos, (50), is the Group Chief Executive of Absa Group Ltd. Prior to joining Absa on 1 March 2009, she was the Group Chief Executive of Transnet Limited, the state owned freight transport and logistics service provider. This was after a successful stint as Director-General of the National Treasury (formerly the Department of Finance).
Ramos has led Transnet through a massive financial, cultural and operational turnaround as well as the transformation of a state owned enterprise into a modern and agile focused freight transport and logistics company.
An accomplished academic, who has taught at various institutions, Ramos obtained an Institute of Bankers’ Diploma (CAIB) in 1983. She followed this with a BCom from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in 1986, a BCom Honours in Economics (also from Wits) in 1987 and an MSc (Economics) from the University of London in 1992.
She is also a recipient of honorary doctorates from the Stellenbosch and Free State Universities.
During her tenure as Director-General of the National Treasury, Ramos played a key role in transforming the Treasury into one of the most effective and efficient state departments. Her contribution has been recognized through numerous awards. These include the Sunday Times Business Times Top 100 Business Leader of the Year (2005), successive rankings by Fortune (the influential US-based publication, in its annual feature of the World’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business) as well as being named Businesswoman of the Year by the SA Businesswomen’s Association in 2001.
She has served as a non-executive and independent director on the boards of Sanlam, Remgro and SABMiller. She currently serves on the executive committees of the Business Trust, the International Business Council, the Joint Initiative for Priority Skills Acquisition (Jipsa), the World Bank Chief Economist Advisory Panel, the President’s International Investment Council and President’s Big Business Working Group, Business Leadership South Africa and the Banking Association of South Africa. She has previously served on an international panel of officials tasked with designing the architecture of financial regulation and, in SA she has served on a body tasked with restructuring higher education institutions.
